Karen Keukelaar,
Chief Operations Officer
Mrs. Karen Keukelaar
has an extensive record within the pharmaceutical industry through several
senior positions, leading to more than 25 years of experience in this sector.
Prior to being appointed COO Karen was the first Managing Director of
Sticares InterACT, the CRO division of Sticares Clinical Research Institute.
Karen stood at the basis of the success of Sticares InterACT.

She changed her career path, completing a successful sale of Meddis, by joining
Sticares Institute as the Project Leader of the landmark study SHAPE, and
adding clinical project management to her professional life. This study
generated several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Karen was headhunted by Meddis, a company specialized in 24 hours Holter
Monitoring, as the Sales & Marketing Director. In 1991 Karen became the
Managing Director and owner of Meddis. Karen started her professional career
with ICI Pharmaceuticals in the Sales & Marketing Division as a sales
representative to product manager for a cardiovascular portfolio. Mrs.
Keukelaar has a Life Sciences degree of the University Groningen.

Jan A. de Witt,
Chief Business Officer
Before Jan joined
Sticares InterACT he was a Consultant at Europa Partners, a London based
investment bank, and focused on Health Care / Life Sciences by advising
Pharma / Biotech on M&A-, portfolio-, and investment policies.
Prior to Europa
Partners Dr. de Witt was Vice President of NovaQuest. At NovaQuest, Jan was
involved in the identification and negotiation of strategic partnerships with
pharmaceutical companies.

With more than 20 years of experience in the medical and pharmaceutical
industries, he applied his knowledge of research and marketing to exploring
business opportunities outside of the traditional CRO offering.
Prior to joining Quintiles in 1999 as General Manager Benelux, Dr. de
Witt worked in a variety of posts in the Netherlands, Belgium and the UK, where
he has been responsible for Pharmaceutical Product Research and Development, as
well as marketing. He developed special expertise in cardiovascular research,
particularly Phases II through IV, as a Medical Adviser. His career has taken
him to clinical research at ICI-Pharma and CRO work for ClinTrials Research,
setting up offices in France, Poland and Italy. At Zambon Pharmaceuticals, he
successfully submitted Ibopamine (a treatment for congestive heart failure) to
Dutch health authorities, and then supervised its product portfolio and sales.
Dr. de Witt received his medical degree from the University of Leiden in
the Netherlands and completed postgraduate training in pharmaceutical medicine
at the University of Cardiff in Wales.
