Ever since Sticares InterACT bv was founded, cardiovascular research
has had a prominent place in the organisation.
Cardiovascular disorders, often caused by atherosclerosis, are at the root of a
large number of serious diseases, and cause about half of all mortalities.
Sticares InterACT has set priorities
for its key area of expertise. In general however, three main areas of clinical
cardiovascular research can be distinguished:
1. Thrombosis and haemostasis.
2. Focusing on the functioning of the normal and failing heart.
3. Focusing on vascular biology of both large and small vessels.
The cardiovascular research activities are performed throughout Europe. The
Project Manager oversees all (international) activities in relation to the
project and reports directly to the Sponsor involved. Each project has multiple
principal investigators (PI's). The PI's are responsible for the progress of
their project as far as patient recruitment and adherence to the protocol is
concerned.

cardiovascular research within Sticares InterACT bv can be found here.
